Volunteers of Citizens for Bengaluru (CfB) held #selfiewithmybmtc campaign to celebrate Bus Day on Tuesday. Volunteers boarded buses on various routes, took selfies and encouraged others to participate in the campaign aimed at promoting the bus as a primary mode of transportation.

The selfies were later posted on social media, with messages to readers on the importance of mass transport in reducing traffic congestion as well as pollution. CfB volunteer Srinivas Alavilli said passengers expressed concern over the irrational fare, lack of frequency and Metro feeder services.

Many selfies on Twitter and Facebook were accompanied by complaints about overcrowded buses. Vijay Kundaji posted on Facebook: “All heads and hands today even in the expensive volvo. This is very normal. (BMTC officials) have no on ground experience. Bus Bhagya Beku.”
