An owner of a clothes shop was thrashed by the public after a 32-year-old woman alleged that he was clicking her photographs on his mobile phone without her consent at Tavarekere on Sunday.

The victim, a native of Delhi and a resident of Anjanapura, was working in the clothes shop owned by Prakash. She had come down to the City a couple of years ago, the police said.
She claimed that she was constantly harrased by Prakash, who used to force her to wear different clothes, and click her pictures on his mobile phone. She warned him several times, but Prakash continued his antics. Fed up, she approached a few local people and complained them about his behaviour. The public snatched Prakash’s mobile phone, thrashed him and handed him to the police.

A senior police officer said, “A few people known to Prakash claimed that it was a plan to seek revenge against Prakash. However, we can act against Prakash only after the victim files a complaint.”
