The fourth GAIL Plastasia 2013 exhibition which will start off from Friday will enable visitors to have a better understanding of plastic innovations.

The four-day event to be held from February 22 to 25 will focus on research and development in plastics that are not only sustainable, but will also have a utility factor.
While promoting sustainable plastics, attempts will be made to approach universities to urge them to conduct increased research in plastics.

Cyril Pereira, Managing Director, Triune Exhibitors Private Limited, said that the main
objective of the event was to create awareness about the right use of plastics among the public. “We are expecting footfalls of 4,000 to 5,000 everyday,” he said.

Around 500-odd stalls showcasing products, raw materials, post processing machines and new technological innovations from various plastic industries will be on display.

Also, a model of human brain of dimension 6x5x6 feet, made from 100 kg of waste plastic wires, will be an added attraction at the exhibition. Co-chairman of  the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, J Crasta, is expected to preside over the event as the chief guest on the first day.

The exhibition organised by Triune Exhibitors Private Limited will take place at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Tumkur Road. It is open between 10 am and 6 pm.
