Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said his Karnataka counterpart Siddaramaiah does not like him visiting the state for campaigning.
"Bengaluru is a beautiful city built by Kempegowda. But I feel bad about its present condition. There is a strong relationship between Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh as Sri Ram was born in Uttar Pradesh while his close associate Hanuman was born in Karnataka and they together gave good governance (Rama Rajya)," he said in Sahakara Nagar on Wednesday.
"There is another relationship between UP and Karnataka. Lord Gorakhnath's tradition is followed in Karnataka by Lord Manjunatha," he added.
He said the BJP had introduced a large number of schemes like Startup India, Digital India and Fasal Bima Yojana for women, youth and farmers that can benefit Karnataka, too. This is the true meaning of Rama Rajya. If Siddaramaiah had implemented these schemes, he could have stopped thousands of farmers from committing suicide, he said.
"The Congress government has supported the sand and land mafia and illegal slaughterhouses in the state. The UP government stopped illegal slaughterhouses within 24 hours of coming to power," Adityanath said.
He said there were restrictions to celebrate Hindu festivals in the state.
“I learnt that in Karnataka there are restrictions to celebrate the jayanthis of Ganesh, Shivaji and Hanuman. But the government spends money on celebrating Tipu Jayanthi,” Adityanath said.
