Unidentified men robbed a software engineer of his gold chain after slashing his hand at Hanumanthanagar on Tuesday.

Pradip Kumar (30), a resident of Hanumanthanagar, was returning home from work at 11.30 pm and had stopped his two-wheeler near Ramanjaneya Road, Hanumanthanagar, to attend a phone call.

Two unidentified men on a bike, on the pretext of seeking directions, flashed a knife and asked him to part with the valuables and cash.

Though Kumar put up a fight and tried to escape, he was overpowered and his hand slashed. The duo then made away with a gold chain weighing 12 gm.

Kumar rushed to the police station to lodge a complaint after which he was taken to a nearby hospital. The police are trying to trace the robbers based on his description.

In another incident, in Tilak Nagar police limits, two bike-borne miscreants made away with a gold chain from Gowramma, 48, a resident of Byrasandra.
