Special counters for filing I-T returns

The Income Tax Department is setting up special counters to receive returns of income from the salaried employees and pensioners of Bangalore City at Kings Court adjacent to Gayatri Vihar at the Palace Grounds.

These special counters will remain open from 10 am to 5 pm from July 27 to
July 31.

These centralised counters will handle the returns of income of the entire salaried class (Central/State govt/PSUs/banks/private sector etc) and the pensioners of Bangalore City.
“More than one lakh people are expected to visit the counters within five days,” a press release issued here said.

It added that the counters will be a one-stop for filing income tax returns for salaried employees and pensioners with support at every step by officers and officials of income tax department.

“Availability of professional help in the form of e-filing intermediaries for e-filing of returns along with tax return preparers (TRP) and availability of auxiliary facilities like food court, true copy, bank and ATM et al will be the highlight,” the release said.
