In the light of a 15-day deadline fixed for four- wheelers to remove sun films from their vehicles, the Bangalore City Traffic Police will put up 10 special counters in the City.
At these counters, vehicle owners can get the sun films removed from their cars free of cost. These special counters would function from May 10 to May 19.
The Bangalore Traffic Police will penalise the violators of the Supreme Court directive from May 19. These special counters are at - BRV Grounds - Shivajinagar, City Armed Reserve (South) Grounds - Adugodi, City Armed Reserve (Headquarters) Grounds - Mysore Road, Malleswaram Grounds - Malleswaram, Madhavan Park - Jayanagar, Toll Plaza - Bengaluru International Airport Road, Yelahanka Police Station, BDA Complex - Indiranagar, East Football Grounds - Frazer Town and near Kanteerava Stadium.
The counters will function between 9 am and 6 pm on all the stipulated days. Bangalore Traffic Police have requested the vehicle owners to avail the service and comply with the Supreme Court ban on the use of sun films or any other material on the safety glasses, windscreen (front and rear) and side glasses.
