A youth was crushed by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) on Dr Rajkumar Road in the early hours of Sunday.
According to police, a speeding SUV mowed down Rajesh (24), who was riding a two-wheeler. Passersby shifted him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The driver of the SUV fled the spot with the vehicle.
Rajesh, a resident of Rajajinagar, was working as a delivery boy with a courier company in Malleswaram. He was returning home when the accident occurred.
CCTV footage
A senior police officer said that they were scrutinising the CCTV footage at some junctions on Dr Rajkumar Road to identify the vehicle which caused the accident.
He declined to say whether the vehicle has been identified. Rajajinagar traffic police have registered a case.
