Work on a steel bridge from Gali Anjaneya temple to the satellite bus stand on Mysuru Road will be taken up shortly, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday.

Replying to a query by BJP MLC Ashwath Narayan, Siddaramaiah said constructing a steel bridge would require lesser time than a concrete bridge.

The costs too would come down by 12 per cent. Another steel bridge project costing Rs 1,350 crore between Basaveshwara Circle and Hebbal will be taken up jointly by the State government and the Bangalore Development Authority, he said.

Another such project will be taken up with the BBMP from Minerva Circle to Hudson Circle at Rs 134 crore.

At Shivananda Circle, a 326-metre bridge will be built at the cost of Rs 46 crore.
Ashwath Narayan further pointed out that untreated sewage water was flowing into restored lakes. The chief minister said he would direct the BDA to take measures immediately in this regard.
