Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa inaugurated the projects taken up by Bangalore Development Authority. The projects are aimed at decongesting the traffic entering the City from Mysore Road as well as Tumkur Road. The six-laned ring road constructed at a cost of Rs 73 crore is 4.82 kms long, with three lanes on either sides.

Designed for the speed of 80 kms per hour, the road has 2.50 meters median and service roads on either sides measuring about 7.5 meters. The project which began on December 19, 2005 is 11 meters wide on either side and has been completed within 72 months.

The fly over, constructed at a cost of Rs 33.72 lakh is 546 meter long with two approach roads on Tumkur and Mysore roads and will be ensuring the signal free traffic along the ring road.

The six-laned flyover being a first of its kind in the City has been completed in 24 months. The project, which began on December 27, 2007 is designed for a speed of 50 kms per hour.
