Lucky Da Dhaba is the kind of place which makes one go down memory lane, and recall fun trips with good food.

Located in Koramangala, opposite the Sai Baba Temple, this joint gives one the feel of a quintessential Punjabi dhaba with its jute cots and colourful posters of film stars.
To begin with, one can have a glass of lassi which is laced with cream and dry fruits.

Specialties like paneer makhani, murg Punjabi and many other items bring in the rich flavours of Punjab. The dhaba specialises in Punjabi cuisine and has a host of other tawa and kadai items.

“This joint was started almost two years ago and we have tried to provide the ambience of a typical Punjabi dhaba in the City. I wanted to do something different and introduce more tawa items, rather than tandoor ones. We try and stick to authentic Punjabi items as tandoor dishes are available everywhere,” says Nikhil Gomoh, the owner of the restaurant.

Soft and fresh phulkas as well as a host of tawa fried items are there for the foodies. “The response so far has been good. While the afternoons on weekdays are packed with professionals from in and around the area, the weekends are jam-packed with the young crowd, who love the ambience.

We don’t force people to leave as soon as they are done with their meals; they are free to take their own time. Also, the restaurant has been designed in such a manner that the seating arrangement is in the balcony. So, the guest can enjoy their time here,” adds Nikhil.

He further informs that the chefs at the eatery have been brought in especially from Punjab to preserve the authenticity of the dishes. “Since we have many professionals and students from the north in the City, I wanted to serve food which they would enjoy and relate to,” he states.

The paranthas, which are the speciality here, are delectable and spread generously with butter. They can be savoured with curd and pickle. The chicken and vegetable chops are made with potato patties, stuffed with chicken and vegetables and then tossed in oil. It is served hot and crisp.

The thalis are popular as well and are served during the afternoons and evenings regularly.

“The vegetarian thali has two phulkas, rice, two kinds of vegetarian dishes, daal and papad. The non-vegetarian thali has a chicken gravy. We also have a vegetarian special thali, which has a paneer gravy and the non-vegetarian special thali, with scrambled eggs,” says Nikhil. The ingredients are brought in from Punjab.
