At a meeting here with heads of 18 other departments, the minister said all encroachments and hurdles must be removed immediately to allow water to flow into the reservoir.
He said encroachment on the tank bed area and conversion into layouts and for industrial purposes must be immediately curbed and a survey and marking done.
Although 21 illegal sites have been recovered by Nelamangala Development Authority, many illegal industries have come up. Action should be taken to shift them and to completely stop sand mining here. The minister also instructed the revenue department officials not to entertain any new department building on the tank bed area.
