Hennur police said the teacher Kanya Kumari (30) was a resident of Kottigere and was working as an assistant teacher at Belur. She was married to her relative, a software engineer in Bangalore for four years and the couple had a four-year-old son.
Kumari would visit Bangalore frequently and had been trying to get a transfer to the City. But she was disappointed after her efforts failed to yield results. She applied for leave and came to Bangalore on July 16 and consumed poison the same night, police said.
Kumari’s health deteriorated after two days and she was treated at a hospital. A week-long treatment failed to improve her health.
During her treatment, she revealed that she had consumed poison. She was shifted to Wockhardt hospital where she died on Friday night.
