The BCA and BSc students from various colleges in the City took part in competitions like Code and Debug, IT Manager, Counter Strike, IT Quiz, Amazing Race, Digital Digg, Paper Presentation, Web Designing and Dance.
More than 100 students volunteered for the two-day show, which was a great success.
IT Manager saw the participation of 20 students from different colleges.
Various rounds like group discussion, HR, stress level and communication skills were conducted to judge the smartness of the contestants.
IT Quiz tested the students on the happenings in the IT sector. Code and Debug had teams, consisting of two students each. Each team had to write programs in C or C++ language.
And 20 of them, who finished fast, were selected for the final round. Here, they were asked to remove the errors in the program provided to them. Participants were asked
to solve puzzles related to electronic circuits in Digital Digg. They had to demonstrate the practicality of the proposed circuits in the final round. Contestants were well-prepared for the Paper Presentation wherein they were asked to present a paper based on their research.
Amazing Race, a treasure hunt, was a big hit among students. Comprising ten
different rounds, this fun-filled event entertained the participants as well as the gathering. The topic given for Web Designing was Child Education wherein participants were asked to create animated characters using Photoshop and CorelDraw.
Counter Strike, a gaming event, saw the maximum participation of 40 students. The dance event on the second day was quite a crowd-puller. Blending Culture was
the theme and students amalgamated more than two forms in a single performance. “It was truly a visual delight. All the performances were filled with energy and enthusiasm. As a member of the audience, I enjoyed them a lot,” said Pradeep, a student.
Since Child Education was the theme for the fest, a special event was organised for the kids of Gurukula Vidyapeetha, an orphanage in Kengeri. “Our aim is to abolish child labour and uplift the condition of the underprivileged kids in the society. Every participant in this fest had contributed Re 1 towards the orphanage,” said Suhrit Majumder, a student co-ordinator.
The winners took away many prizes and gift vouchers along with certificates and trophies.
