A robbery attempt was made at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in RPC Layout.
Taking advantage of the two successive holidays on Thursday and Friday, burglars gained entry into the bank by breaking open its rear door.
The bank staff, who reported for work early on Saturday, discovered the theft attempt.
After a thorough search, the police found everything intact, except the hard disk of the closed-circuit television camera, which was missing.
A forensic expert was roped in and a dog squad pressed into service to gather evidence from the spot.
A case has been registered at Vijayanagar Police Station and investigation is on.
