Three drug peddlers held

The Koramangala police have arrested three people, including a Congo national and a Nigerian, and recovered 21 gm of ecstasy tablets, worth Rs 5 lakh, from them.

The accused have been identified as John Kennedy (37), a native of Nigeria; Canon Audley (32) from Congo; and Aditya P (22), a resident of Binny Mills.

According to a senior police officer, Kennedy had come to India using a forged passport and invalid documents, and Audley had entered the country on a student visa in 2012 and had overstayed after his visa had expired.

The duo, along with Aditya, used to smuggle the banned substances by hiding it in their shoes and socks. They usually targetted college students and software engineers.

The suspects have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and also under the Foreigners Act. The police are investigating to ascertain the source of the drugs.
