The Cubbon Park police have arrested three people, including a BCom student, for allegedly assaulting a cab driver over a road rage incident on New Year's Eve.
The suspect, Owais Khan, the student and his friends Mohammed Nayeem and Syed Mujeed, had gone to Brigade Road to celebrate New Year.
While returning on their bikes, they had an argument with a cab driver Rajendran Kumar after their vehicles brushed against the cab.
The bike riders assaulted the cabbie with an iron rod and escaped. Based on Kumar's complaint, the police tracked the bikers using CCTV footage.
The police are investigating to ascertain whether they have a criminal background and why they had carried iron rods with them.
