After playing hard to win a battle in the cricketing arena, it is obviously time to party harder. But with the game having taken its toll on the RCB boys, the after-match IPL parties at UB City had to make do without the players. However, the Mallyas saw to it that the party was a hot affair.
Sidhartha Mallya, the worthy son of RCB owner and a party man who is in his own league, stole the show. Surrounded by a bevy of beauties, Sidhartha was the cynosure of all eyes. The absence of players only meant that the challenge to his aura was that much less.
The party featured the collection of Western wear by designer Gayathri Khanna and had a large presence of P3P people but the players of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings were conspicuous by their absence.

he open space of the UB City set the perfect ambience for the evening, which saw liquor and food flow uninterruptedly. Sukhanya Lal, a businesswoman says that while she loved Gayathri’s creations for its futuristic appeal, she was disappointed that none of the players had turned up. “It’s only at parties like these that one gets to greet and meet the players. Perhaps they were too tired to party. But Vijay Mallya made the evening exciting. His presence is more than enough to spice up any gathering,” says Sukhanya.
There were some people who thought that the evening was overcrowded. There were among the guests invitees and gatecrashers. “Thanks to the open air, it wasn’t claustrophobic but it was too crowded. I had to elbow my way through the crowd,” says Rohit Sharma, a regular party goer.
