The arrested are Tabrez, 30, a mechanic from Nagawara; Imran Khan, 35, a radium cutting worker from Banashankari; and Ajeez Khan, 47, from Tilak Nagar, a real estate worker.

The police said the incident occurred on August 24 at 9.30 pm near the Royal Travels office, opposite the Kalasipalyam BMTC bus stand.

The FIR, based on a complaint by Harikrishna, 33, in-charge of loading and unloading at Royal Travels, stated that he and his workers were on duty when the suspects confronted Shilendra Kumar, 26, a worker from Bihar.

"They shoved Shilendra Kumar after asking him why he wore a saffron towel. When I intervened, they abused and beat me up, and tore my shirt. They also asked me why my workers were allowed to wear saffron towels,” Harikrishna alleged in the FIR.

The police first filed a Non-Cognizable Report and then registered the FIR on August 25 after securing permission from a local court. The suspects were remanded to judicial custody for 15 days. Further investigation is on.
