A 26-year-old man from Hyderabad was caught smuggling 960 grams of Hashish on a Doha-bound flight at the Kempegowda International Airport on the intervening night of October 4 and 5, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said.

Srinivas, said to be working for a travel agency, had allegedly concealed the banned substance in a pair of jeans in his backpack. He was boarding the Qatar Airways flight when NCF sleuths detained him for questioning following specific inputs. He has been under various sections of the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Srinivas had visited West Asia several times in the recent past, officials said, suspecting that he had smuggled drugs earlier, too.
