Trapped workers rescued

Alert public, with the help of the police, rescued two labourers, who were buried under the debris of a wall that collapsed at a construction site in Basveshwaranagar on Thursday.

The incident happened in the afternoon when Saravana (41) and Shiva (32), both residents of Sriramapura, were working at the site, belonging to Mahalingappa. The earth movers were excavating a part of the site when the wall collapsed. The workers alerted the police, who rushed to the spot. It took them an hour to rescue the trapped workers. They were shifted to a nearby hospital.

A complaint has been registered against the site owner for not taking safety measures.
