Tunes of Treasure’, a musical evening featuring none other than the famous playback singer Sonu Nigam, will soon be held in the City.
Having lent his voice to a number of Hindi as well as Kannada songs, Sonu Nigam has a universal appeal and enjoys a large fan-base.
The concert will give Bangaloreans an opportunity to hear him belt out some of his popular numbers live.
The concert is being jointly organised by the Sri Sudarshana Seva Samithi, as well as the Nava Karnataka Social Service Trust.
A press conference conducted by representatives of the Samithi and the organisers of the event was recently held in the City.
It included S Venkatesa Iyengar, the founder of the Sri Sudarshan Seva Samithi; Sujatha Srinath Nikkam and Charan Singh R S, both organisers of the event.
Venkatesa Iyengar began by describing some of the work that the Samithi does, which is largely focussed on promoting traditional culture and customs in today’s modern world.
He made a brief mention of the initiatives taken by the Samithi to promote the usage of Indian languages today, especially amongst young children.
Sujatha Srinath Nikkam pointed out that the main reason for holding this concert is to increase
awareness about the need for education amongst children.
