Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Monday arrested two officials of the Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies in Ramanagaram on corruption charges. The accused are Mohan Kumar, assistant registrar and Ravi, senior inspector.
The complainant, a resident of Basavenahalli village in Magadi, had approached the office of the assistant registrar of co-operative societies seeking permission to start a finance business. The accused officials had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 to issue the licence.
ACB sleuths registered an FIR and arrested the officials while they were allegedly accepting the bribe.
