Two girls rescued from prostitution

The City police have rescued two girls, who were pushed into flesh trade, were rescued by arresting  an autorickshaw driver. The suspect was identified as Srinivas. Police said two persons — Shivu and Ravi, ran a paying guest accommodation facility on VI Cross Malleswaram.

They had given their mobile numbers  and e-mail IDs in social media, as also whatsApp facility for customers to contact. Once a deal was struck, Srinivas would  bring customers to the PG. Shivu and Ravi would book rooms in a lodge opposite Mantri Square, that would double up as a brothel, police said.

They would also supply girls to Shivajinagar, Palace Guttalli, M G Road, Ashok Nagar, Mekhri Circle and Shanthinagar.  The police are looking out for Ravi and Shivu.
Materials recovered

Ten persons were arrested and stolen construction materials worth Rs 16.5 lakh recovered from them by Byatarayanapura Police. 

The suspects Shanktivelu, 25, Annamalai 35, Tirupathi, 19,  Murugan, 20, Vijayan, 21, Govindaswamy, 26, Shankar, 20, Mani, 25, Satish, 19 and Pungumani, 25, are from Tamil Nadu. They were into scrap business. They would identify under construction apartments and at night whisk away construction materials, police said.
They committed thefts in Mahadevapura, Byatarayanapura, HSR Layout, Varthur and Yelahanka.

Homemaker robbed
An unidentified youth allegedly robbed a woman of her 30 gm gold in Vijayanagar on Monday. The incident took place when the victim, Papathi, resident of 4th Main Road, IX Cross, Govindarajanagar, was collecting water from a tap near her house. She was attacked from behind and her gold chain snatched by the youth, who fled along with his accomplice waiting on a bike, police said.
