With this, the total arrests in the case have touched nine.

The two arrested suspects have been identified as Dinesh and Jinesh, both part of the conspiracy to rob the cash van belonging to CMS Info Systems, the company in charge of vans transporting cash, near Jayanagar last week.

Police said Dinesh was arrested in Bengaluru and Jinesh in Chennai, both on Sunday. Police said so far, they have recovered Rs 6.55 crore of the stolen Rs 7.11 crore.

“We are yet to recover Rs 56 lakh. Investigation is continuing to recover the balance amount,” Lokesh B Jagalasar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), said. He added that since the probe was ongoing, he cannot comment on whether more arrests will follow.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh on Saturday announced that six people involved in the robbery were arrested. The seventh arrest was announced on Sunday.

Among those arrested were former employees of CMS Info Systems and Annappa Naik, a police constable attached to the Govindapura station in Bengaluru, who is currently under suspension pending inquiry.

Sources said the suspects had spent only around Rs 1 lakh from the loot, primarily on logistics and to purchase a mobile phone costing Rs 40,000.
