The Vyalikaval police arrested two men for attempting to kill their friend over an old rivalry on Sunday in Sheshadripuram.
The suspects, Rakshith R and Nischith K both aged 20 years, residents of Kodandaramapura were arrested on Monday based on a complaint filed by the victim Nicky Brown.
Brown, a resident of Ramachandrapura studies first year engineering in a private engineering college near Sahakaranagar.
Police said, Brown was stabbed once by the Nischith around 8.30 pm, passerby noticed and immediately shifted him to hospital. On Monday he was discharged from the hospital after which he registered a complaint against the two.
Police further added that, the trio were friends but they had dispute during the celebration of Ganesh festival in their area. The accused started abusing Brown on Sunday night. Brown challenged them. This enraged the accused who stabbed him.
