ASVD is a defect or hole in the heart between both upper and lower chambers of the heart. Dany, who is from Kombola, Uganda, was detected of ASVD after she had difficulty in breathing.
After being referred to the hospital, Dany underwent open heart surgery with cardio-pulmonary by-pass. Doctors say that she is recovering well and will be discharged soon.
