The Transport department on Wednesday registered a case against the car driver of Minister for Women and Child Welfare Umashree as he failed to produce the emission certificate.
The Transport Department officials conducted a special drive in the City to keep tabs on air pollution. Around 500 vehicles were checked including the car belonging to the minister.
Nearly 100 vehicle owners failed to provide the certificate and they will have to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 each, if they fail to submit the valid certificates within a week.
