BBMP Administrator Gaurav Gupta has ordered officials to remove the pedestrian underpass on the Raj Bhavan Road between the JN Planetarium and Legislators' Home.

The underpass has remained unused for several years and has been in lock and key.

While inspecting the progress of roadworks under the Smart City Project, Gupta also ordered engineers to clear unauthorised OFC cables that obstruct pedestrian pathways.

Speaking to the media later, Gupta said: “The Chief Minister has already inaugurated five roads and another nine will be thrown open in a few days.”

Visiting the Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road near Kanteerava Stadium, Gupta directed the officials to shift the public toilet built on the footpath as it blocks pedestrian movement.

He asked the Bescom managing director to shift RCC poles while also directing road infrastructure cell engineers to asphalt the roads.
