Their objective is to educate the youth not to pick up their first cigarette. The campaign is not directed at smokers, instead it is aimed at impressionable people of the age group of 13 – 21 years, educating them not to get introduced to smoking in the first place.

In the past six years of inception, SWAT has conducted many campaigns including a silent march, a signature campaign, a bike rally, a smoke-free party, etc. This year SWAT campaign comprises two events — SWAT walk and a smoke-free concert. The walk is a move to unite the citizens of Bangalore in supporting this cause. It will be conducted on November 29, from 10 am to 12 noon. The walk will begin from the Government Library in Cubbon Park and will end at Cubbon Park. There will be over 1,000 participants from the age of 12. For details, call 9538 401471.
