Umashankar was employed by Dr Ravi, who is building a house on the First A Main Road at Chunchaghatta.
Four persons were working on the first floor of the under-construction building at around 11 am when Umashankar accidentally touched a live wire of an electricity pole in front of the building.
He lost his balance, fell on the wires and was charred to death within seconds, police said.
The locality police and Bescom staff used a rope to bring the down the body that was hanging from the wires, police said.
