The 104th and 105th All Breeds Championship Dog Show, organised by the Mysore Kennel Club, Bangalore, saw the participation of 540 dogs at the one-day event held on the Football Gro­u­nds in Hebbal on Sunday.

Around 50 breeds, ranging from Chihuahuas, Great Dane to Fox Terrier, etc, dominated the event. Cathy Delmar (Ireland), Sean Delmar (Ireland), William Rodriguez Umanha (Costa Rica), D Krishnamurthy (India) and J Rangarajan (India) were the jury members.

The winners of 104th Championship are as follows: First ‘Best in Show’ - Afghan Hound (owner Nagaraj Shetty from Bangalore); second ‘Best in Show’ - Fox Terrier (owner Senthil Ravi from Chennai); third ‘Best in Show’ – Doberman (owner Reddy from Hyderabad) and ‘Best puppy in the Show’- Siberian Husky (anonymous).

The 105th Championship winners are: First ‘Best in Show’ - Doberman (owner Reddy from Hyderabad); second ‘Best in Show’ - German Shepherd (owner Ramesh from Bangalore); third ‘Best in Show’ - Bulldog (owner Andrew Thomas from Chennai) and ‘Best puppy in the Show’ - Great Dane (anonymous).

Prizes were distributed by the Mysore Kennel Club, which maintained that the 102th and 103rd All Breeds Championship Dog Show, saw a participation of 430 dogs.

“We have been conducting the shows for more than 50 years and for the first time we have seen so many dogs taking part. We invited applications three months ago. Dogs older than four months and those registered with the Kennel Club of India are eligible to take part in the Championship shows,” said Nagesh Reddy, a committee member of Mysore Kennel Club.
