A female construction labourer was found hanging from a tree branch in a eucalyptus grove in HSR Layout in southeastern Bengaluru on Tuesday.
Chhaya, a native of Odisha, is suspected to have been abducted by some men who then hanged her to a tree on Monday night. It’s unclear if the victim was sexually assaulted before being killed. Chhaya had come down to Bengaluru a few months ago and was working as a construction labourer. She was living in a makeshift shed near her workplace.
Her husband has been in jail in a theft case for a few months now.
