Work on Bannerghatta road widening to start in 2 months

Work on widening of the Bannerghatta Road will start within two months. The Palike officers will hold a meeting with the property owners over land acquisition on October 19

.

Mayor B S Sathyanarayana inspected the road on Saturday. Palike officials informed him that 405 properties have been identified for acquisition and widening will begin soon after obtaining consent from the property owners. They said steps will be taken to grant Transferable Development Rights (TDR) to those who stand to lose their properties.

The BBMP has proposed widening a 7.5-km stretch of the road to 150 feet. Palike Commissioner M Lakshminarayana said a detailed project report for the work has been prepared.

The mayor directed the officers to remove the illegal advertisement hoardings on the road. He said a service road connecting Bannerghatta Road and Kodichikkanahalli will be laid soon.
