Welcoming the gathering, Principal Joyce Sunder said, “The responsibility of the educational system goes beyond merely classroom delivery and should extend to meet the needs of technological development and globalisation. There is an urgent need to bridge the gap between the curriculum and the corporate world through quality education. In his inaugural address, Kaushik said, “Due weightage should be give to contextual reality of criteria and emphasise on the criteria which is essential for assessment and accreditation”. He also said ‘Institution should be the platform to shape the scholarship of the students’.
B K Chandrashekar said, “Institutions should produce graduates who should be globally competitive. Micro-finance and agri-business should be encouraged. Ponmudi observed that curriculum was beyond the syllabus. Academic flexibility, horizontal mobility and vertical mobility are the criteria for the assessment of the college. About 25 participants from various colleges and universities of Karnataka participated in the workshop.
