A 22-year-old youth was stabbed by his friend over a petty issue in DJ Halli on Friday night.
The victim Abhishek, a resident of Benson Town near DJ Halli, was rushed to hospital, and his condition is said to be critical. The police have identified the accused as Biju (21), a resident of Gandhigram in Benson Town.
The police said the incident took place at 10.30 pm on Friday when the two friends met near a school and picked up a quarrel over petty issues. Biju took out a knife and stabbed Abhishek and fled the scene. A passerby noticed Abhishek lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to Bowring Hospital, besides alerting the police.
The DJ Halli police have registered a case and are looking for Biju.
