“Bhardwaj is continuing as chairman of the body and he never submitted his resignation. It is an honourary position with no salary or allowance. The news of his resignation was spread by some vested interests,” B S Saluja, Secretary General, ICARD told Deccan Herald here on Monday.
He said Bhardwaj attended the ICARD’s governing council meeting held here on Saturday.
“This is a registered society and chairmen of registered societies are exempted under the office of profit. But day-today affairs are looked after by me as the secretary general,” he said.
Sources in the ICADR said that in the governing council meeting on Saturday, Bhardwaj himself raised the issue about holding duel posts and offered to resign. However, some of the members turned down the offer and suggested him to continue. When Deccan Herald tried to contact the Governor, his office refused to confirm or deny the news of his resignation offer.
