Bhushan G Borase takes charge as SP of DK

Bhushan G Borase took charge as the 131st Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada district on Monday, after Dr  Sharanappa S D was transferred as the DCP, Bengaluru City.

He said on Monday evening that he was proud to take charge as SP of Dakshina Kannada district and will try to fulfil the expectations of people.

Hailing from Dhule district of Maharashtra, Borase holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Pune University and MTech from NIT, Jamshedpur. An officer from the 2009 IPS batch, he has served as the ASP of Gulbarga and Mandya earlier. Prior to his posting as Dakshina Kannada SP, he was serving as the SP (Cyber Crime division) at the CID, Bengaluru for four months.

He has the credit of introducing a software to find the owners of unclaimed vehicles which was successfully installed in Mandya and, through which, 786 vehicles were traced. The project was recognised by the Central Government and also won the National Award. The DG’s permission has been obtained to instal the same across the State, he said and added that the software will be linked to the IT section of the police department. Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram Police have obtained the software from Mandya, to have it installed in their states. The installation of the project is in progress in Tumakuru and Kalaburagi.

Outgoing Superintendent of Police Dr Sharanappa handed over the charge to Bhushan G Borase on the occasion.
