Speaking at an interaction organised by the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday, Nirani said: “Currently, the DCs have powers to acquire land up to 50 acre. We are planning to introduce a bill in the ongoing sessions to enhance the power so that the deputy commissioners can acquire up to 500 acre of land.”
He however, said he could not give any timeline for the introduction of the bill.
