A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting to discuss regularisation of daily wage workers at the chief minister’s home office ‘Krishna’ on Monday.

Sources said there are around 15,000 daily wage workers on rolls in different departments. The government has prepared a draft bill to absorb daily wage workers who have completed 10 years of service as on April 10, 2006, as permanent employees.

A final decision on the issue would be taken after the Finance and DPAR submit their reports to the government.

Integrated Township
The Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) made a presentation to the chief minister on the Bidadi Integrated Township.

The BMRDA had recently floated fresh tenders for the project and at present is at the Request for Project (RFP) stage.

The Bidadi Integrated Township did make a start with the project initially being awarded to Delhi-based real estate major DLF during H D Kumaraswamy’s tenure as the chief minister in 2007.  The project, however, did not make any headway due to political instability in the State and subsequent global economic meltdown.

A presentation on the status of Bangalore mono-rail was also made to the chief minister.
