BJP activists attempted to lay siege to the Congress office in Chikkamagaluru on Friday to protest against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah referring to RSS and Bajrang Dal men as "terrorists".

The protesters shouted slogans against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Police tried to prevent them from reaching the Congress office by placing a barricade near K M Road.

Police also arrested 77 protesters including MLA C T Ravi, MLC M K Pranesh and others.

In retaliation, the Congress leaders displayed Congress flags at the BJP protesters and held placards against the BJP.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA C T Ravi challenged the chief minister to provide proof for his accusation. "If we are terrorists, arrest us. Otherwise, CM should seek an apology," he said.
