Bengaluru, DHNS: The Opposition BJP and JD(S) have decided to corner the Congress government during the upcoming winter session in Belagavi by raising issues, such as flood and drought relief, potholes, law and order, and the state’s financial situation.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with JD(S) members, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanswamy said the two parties would jointly move an adjournment motion in the Upper House on drought and flood relief.

“We have decided to move an adjournment motion regarding drought and flood relief issues,” he said.

He added that the BJP and JD(S) would take up several matters in the Council, including law and order failures, problems in the education sector, the state’s financial condition, and potholes in Bengaluru. The parties will present a united front, he asserted.

Narayanaswamy said he has written to the Chairman of the Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti requesting that issues concerning North Karnataka be taken up during the winter session in Belagavi. JD(S) MLCs T A Sharavana and Hanamantha Nirani, and BJP MLC Keshavaprasad S were present.
