BJP padayatra on Sunday, JD(S)' on Monday

 The BJP has organised a ‘padayatra’ to the city’s Suvarna Vidhana Soudha (SVS), demanding payment of dues to sugarcane growers on June 28. The party members plan to lay siege o the Soudha.

The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene have scheduled their protests before the SVS from June 29 till the end of the legislature session in the city, in support of their  demands, including payment of dues of sugarcane farmers. The session starts on June 29.
The JD(S)’ ‘padayatra’ will arrive near the SVS on Monday (June 29) from Dharwad.

BJP national vice-president B S Yeddyurappa and State president Pralhad Joshi will lead the ‘padayatra’ from the residence of farmer Gurunath Chapgavi from Badalankalgi village in Belagavi taluk.

Chapgavi had committed suicide recently as the sugar factory had not cleared his dues.
