The State BJP on Sunday launched a programme to connect with college students and first-time voters in the age group of 18 to 24 ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
As many as 400 volunteers from 45 colleges in Bangalore registered themselves as “campus ambassadors”. In the coming days, these volunteers will ask for support to BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in their colleges.
They will be given “study material” about Modi’s governance model for “Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat” and the BJP ideology. They will hold discussion with classmates in their colleges, at designated places named as “Modi Cafe” or “Modi Chai Point”.
The initiative, which is part of a nationwide programme, was launched by Bangalore South MP and BJP National General Secretary H N Ananth Kumar in Bangalore on Sunday. Ananth Kumar said the BJP had always given preference to the youth and would launch programmes to tap their potential.
BJP National General Secretary Harsh Sanghvi, the 28-year-old youngest MLA from Gujarat, interacted with the audience. An economy-based reservation instead of caste-based system, uniform civil code, Article 370 (Jammu and Kashmir) and single-window clearance for entrepreneurs starting new businesses were among the topics discussed. Sanghvi said the inputs given to him would be considered in the BJP’s youth policy.
