The City police will seek permission from their counterparts in Patna to examine the explosives used in the serial blast which rocked the Bihar capital in October 2013, and compare them with the explosives used in the Church Street blast in Bengaluru to obtain clues about the culprits, said Commissioner of Police M N Reddi.
The two terror suspects arrested in connection with the Bihar blast, who were brought for interrogation to the City on a body warrant recently, will be sent back, as their police custody ended on Saturday. “There was no possible connection found with the duo, Umar Siddique and Hyder Ali, suspected members of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), with the Church Street blast.
But they have revealed a few vital information and with the help of these details, the investigating team will proceed with the probe. We are hopeful that the details given by the duo will help us crack the Church Street blast case. They have also given information about various terrorist organisations and sleeper cells in the country,” Reddi said.
An investigating officer said a few SIMI terrorists who had escaped from the Khandwa jail in Madhya Pradesh in October 2014 might have triggered the Church Street blast. This perspective is also being investigated.
“The information provided by them is being analysed and it will also be shared with the police and investigating agencies from the other State. Everything is being done to obtain some clue which will help us in cracking the Church Street blast,” added the officer.
