Speaking to reporters in Bangalore after a meeting with Chief Minister Yeddyurappa and Karnataka Knowledge Commission Chairman K Kasturirangan, the minister said that the recruitment process by Karnataka Public Service Commission was bogged by delays. “The proposed authority can exclusively take up recruitment and fill in the vacancies in government colleges,” Limbavali said. He added that a final decision in this regard will be taken after consulting the chief minister.

Limbavali said that the state government has agreed to support to the KKC’s recommendation  to develop Karnataka University (Dharwad) and Mysore University as model universities.

The KKC will henceforth hold its full meeting every month. It has formed working groups in different fields - vocational education, higher education, literacy , humanities etc.
