Belagavi: The bodies of the four people, including three women killed in the stampede at Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, will be brought by Delhi-Belagavi flight which will arrive by 5.30 pm on Thursday.
During the stampede in the early hours of Wednesday, Jyoti Hattarvat (44), her daughter Megha (24), residents of Nazar Camp, Vadgaon, Arun Koparde (61), a resident of Shetti Galli, and Mahadevi Hanmath Bavnur (48), a resident of Shivaji Nagar, had died.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan informed reporters here on Thursday that the postmortem of those killed in the stampede will be conducted at New Delhi and the remains have been taken there by road.
The necessary certification processes will be completed, and the bodies will be flown to Belagavi. Some of the injured were also expected to arrive in the same flight and their details will be known from the special officer deputed.
"Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has instructed me to receive the remains at the airport and console the family members. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Public Works Department and District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi will inform about the relief to be given to the next of kin of the deceased,'' he said.
