The body of Manjunath (26), hailing from Bangalore and a resident of Indiranagar, was fished out of Tonnur Lake in the taluk on Tuesday morning.
Manjunath, who was working as a software engineer, in IBM had been to visit the lake with his friends on Sunday. However, he slipped into the water and drowned.
Police said that his friends were unable to pull him out as the lake is too deep.
The body of Manjunath was handed over to his parents on Tuesday. Town police have registered a case.
