The police have registered a case against Chaitra on charges of cheating a man, after taking Rs 5 lakh from him on the promise of helping to set up textile showrooms.
Sudina (33) from Kodi village in Brahmavar taluk, in a complaint to the police, alleged that Chaitra had promised him help in setting up textile shops in Udupi and Kota in 2015.
The complainant alleged that Chaitra claimed she was close to top BJP leaders, ministers and MLAs and promised to help him in setting up the shops.
