Shivamogga: An eight-year-old boy from Dattarajpur village in Thirthahalli taluk, who was suffering from kyasanur forest disease also known as monkey fever died at KMC Hospital in Manipal on Thursday night.
Both Rachit and his sister tested positive for KFD 15 days ago. Rachit was treated at J C Hospital in Thirthahalli for 4 days and was admitted to Manipal Hospital for further treatment.
It was learnt that the boy, who had been treated at Manipal Hospital for 12 days, died on Thursday.
Rachit was studying in Class 2 at Vagdevi School in Thirthahalli. He is the son of Ramu and Savita from Dattarajpur village.
